How Cooper’s Journey Inspired a $6,000 Community Fundraiser

At MPFC, we often say that every grant creates a ripple effect. Recently, we witnessed a beautiful example of just how far that ripple can reach.

Thanks to the generosity of the community and the incredible team at Enchanted Indoor Playground in Rocklin, California, MPFC was selected as the beneficiary of a special grand opening fundraiser that raised an amazing $6,000 to help children access life-changing therapies and medical services.

What makes this story even more meaningful is how the connection began.

It Started With One Child

In 2024, MPFC awarded a $3,000 grant to help a young boy named Cooper attend an intensive therapy program at LEAP Pediatric Therapy.

Cooper was born with Bainbridge-Ropers Syndrome (ASXL3), an ultra-rare genetic disorder that affects developmental growth, muscle tone, communication, feeding, and mobility. Children with Bainbridge-Ropers Syndrome often require extensive therapies and ongoing medical support to reach their fullest potential.

Like many families raising a child with complex medical needs, Cooper’s family faced the challenge of accessing intensive therapy programs that could help him make meaningful developmental gains.

When Cooper was approved for funding, his mother shared:

“Oh my goodness that is such amazing news!! Thank you so much, wow this is going to help so much! I’m in shock. We are so incredibly grateful for this opportunity!”

Remarkable Progress Through Intensive Therapy

Cooper attended a three-week intensive therapy program April 2024.

The results were nothing short of incredible.

Before therapy, Cooper was unable to take independent steps in his gait trainer. By the end of the program, he was not only moving independently in the gait trainer but had begun taking reciprocal steps on his own, which was a goal his family had been working toward for months.

His mother later shared:

“When we got here he wasn’t taking any independent steps in it and he left there today not only moving independently in the gait trainer, but actually taking independent reciprocal steps in it. That’s something we had been working on for months at home and he was able to accomplish that in 3 weeks.”

The progress didn’t stop there. A few months later, Cooper achieved another major milestone, he began crawling independently.

These moments are exactly why MPFC exists.

A Full-Circle Moment

Fast forward to 2026.

When Enchanted Indoor Playground was preparing for the grand opening of its newest Rocklin location, the owners wanted to dedicate each day of their three-day celebration to supporting a local nonprofit that had made a difference for families in the community.

One of those families was Cooper’s.

Because MPFC had helped Cooper access therapy, his family recommended our foundation as a potential beneficiary.

The result?

Through party bookings, memberships, gift card purchases, and open play admissions, the Enchanted Indoor Playground community raised an incredible $6,000 for MPFC in a single day.

The Power of Community

What began as a $3,000 grant for one child has now come full circle, generating funding that will help even more children receive therapies, equipment, medical services, and opportunities they otherwise may not be have access to.

This is the power of community.

This is the power of generosity.

And this is why every grant matters.

Thank You

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at Enchanted Indoor Playground, the families who attended their grand opening celebration, and especially Cooper and his family for sharing their story and helping connect MPFC with such an incredible community partner.

Your support will help us continue providing hope and funding to children with medical needs and developmental disabilities.

Together, we are changing lives, one child, one family, and now one community at a time.
