Celebrating a Generous Grant from the Robert & Joan Dircks Foundation

We are excited to announce that the Maryam Parman Foundation For Children has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Robert & Joan Dircks Foundation! This funding will help us further our mission and bring meaningful change to the community we serve.

About the Robert & Joan Dircks Foundation

The Robert & Joan Dircks Foundation is dedicated to supporting organizations that work to improve the quality of life for individuals facing financial, physical, or social challenges. Since its founding, the Foundation has consistently invested in nonprofits that focus on innovative solutions and compassionate service.

How the Grant Will Be Used

The generous $5,000 grant will directly support our “Therapy For Kids Program” which provides therapeutic opportunities for children who have many different diagnoses such as those living with cerebral palsy, autism, rare genetic disorders, traumatic brain injury, intellectual impairment and developmental disabilities. With this funding, we will be able to provide life-changing therapy sessions for 5 deserving children, offering them a brighter future filled with hope, healing, and endless possibilities.

Examples of the types of therapy this grant will fund:

  • Intensive Therapy: Intensive therapy programs typically include a combination of physical, occupational, and speech therapy. The therapy sessions are customized for each child based on their needs and goals. Typically, children will be in intensive therapy for 2-6 hours a day, five days a week, for three full weeks.
  • Hippotherapy: Hippotherapy uses horseback riding to achieve therapeutic goals, utilizing the horse’s movement for treatment. It involves a professional horse handler, therapist, and trained therapy horse, offering one-on-one sessions year-round until goals are met.
  • Aquatic Therapy: Swim therapy harnesses water’s buoyancy and resistance to enhance strength, posture, flexibility, and endurance while easing joint stress. It’s effective for physical, sensory, and developmental challenges.

Thank You, Robert & Joan Dircks Foundation!

We are deeply grateful to the Robert & Joan Dircks Foundation for their belief in our work and for this generous contribution. Their support not only strengthens our organization but also brings us closer to achieving our vision of alleviating the financial strain of accessing transformative therapy for children in need. We look forward to sharing updates on how these funds are making a difference in the lives of those we serve.
