Giving Tuesday Now

Giving Tuesday Now was a new global day of giving and unity that took place on May 5, 2020 – in addition to the regularly scheduled Dec 1, 2020 Giving Tuesday – as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day was designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world.

Creating Positive Change

At a time when we are all experiencing the pandemic, generosity is what brings people of all races, faiths, and political views together across the globe. Generosity gives everyone power to make a positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value anyone can act on. It was a day for everyone around the world to stand together and give back in all ways, no matter who or where we are.

Even as we practice physical distancing, we can remain connected through kindness and generosity even without physical proximity. There is no reason that our physical separation means we can’t provide the financial, emotional and social supports that nurture our families and communities.

Changing Lives

We were overwhelmed by the amount of support we received and could not be more thankful to those who donated, shared our mission, and reposted on their social media accounts. Because of you, we raised over $6,200! 

As a special way to show our appreciation, we hosted a live magic show on our Instagram account with our Annual Gala magician, Jack Velour, on May 19th. Our viewers enjoyed 30 minutes of magic tricks, entertainment, and many laughs. It was a very interactive event and we hope that it showed all of our supporters how much we appreciate them. We look forward to more events like this in the future.
