Cooper is a sweet 2-year-old boy who was born with Bainbridge-Ropers Syndrome, an extremely rare genetic condition that severely affects his physical and cognitive development. MPFC approved a $3,000 grant for Cooper’s intensive therapy at LEAP Pediatric Physical Therapy. Cooper’s goals for this intensive physical therapy program is to learn to consistently sit upright without additional support and possibly standing with little additional support.
“We just finished up his last day of therapy today. He did so well, it was actually unbelievable. The biggest thing he improved on during this trip was taking steps in his gait trainer. When we got here he wasn’t taking any independent steps in it and he left there today not only moving independently in the gait trainer, but actually taking independent reciprocal steps in it. That’s something we had been working on for months at home and he was able to accomplish that in 3 weeks here. So it was just absolutely amazing to watch his growth.” Kaylena, Cooper’s mom
