Miguel Salas is a sweet 14-year-old boy who has down syndrome and is nonverbal. While working with his speech pathologist, he uses an application called Touch Chat on an iPad that helps him communicate. His mother was unable to afford an iPad and the application so that Miguel could communicate at home, as he had been learning in school. MPFC awarded Miguel a grant for an iPad, an iPad case, and the TouchChat application yearly fee. We are so happy to be able to help Miguel communicate more effectively with his family at home.
