From February 17 to March 7, 2025, the Grace Fisher Inclusive Arts Clubhouse became a hub of transformation, joy, and progress as 16 children with disabilities received world-class therapy during the NAPA Center Santa Barbara Pop-Up. This powerful collaboration between the Grace Fisher Foundation, NAPA Center, and the Maryam Parman Foundation for Children (MPFC) offered three intensive weeks of hope and healing.
Real Impact, Real Progress
Each child received up to four hours of therapy per day for three straight weeks—covering physical, occupational, and speech therapy, along with dynamic movement intervention. The transformations were powerful and personal:
“Elliette (3) took her first steps on DAY 2 and we were shocked! She gained so much confidence… NAPA truly changed our lives.”
“Lindy (12) started putting together 4–5 word sentences consistently. Previously she was only doing one to two. Katie, her speech therapist, gave us so much guidance.”
“Scott (6) finally started drinking from a straw (no more sippy cup!) and walked longer distances with his walker. Walking to Macy’s was gold!”
“Theo (13 mo.) was only sitting upright for 5–10 minutes before the pop-up. Now he’s sitting on his own, standing with help, and even feeding himself!”
“Wesley (3) improved with self-feeding and got stronger in his legs. He also began exploring the eye gaze for communication.”
“Anderson’s confidence grew and he’s initiating speech more. This was our first intensive and it helped us connect with other families facing similar challenges.”
“Finley (5) made huge gains—better control of his body and much improved transitions to sit and stand.”
“Elijah (5) jumped up a 4-inch box for the first time and balanced on one leg! In speech, he learned new adjectives and prepositions.”
“Mila (11 mo.) is now moving into and out of sitting, pulling to stand, and cruising along surfaces. NAPA therapy is life changing!”
These quotes only begin to reflect the breakthroughs witnessed at the pop-up. Families left feeling more hopeful, empowered, and connected.
Powered by Community Generosity
Thanks to $20,000 in community donations, families were able to access this life-changing therapy with reduced financial strain. 100% of donations, managed through MPFC, directly supported participating families.
Support didn’t stop there—26 local businesses donated meals, services, and gifts, creating a welcoming and nurturing environment. The Clubhouse hosted 75+ visitors, including family members, community members, and donors, many of whom witnessed therapy sessions firsthand.
Amplifying the Message
Coverage by KEYT’s John Palminteri brought even more awareness to the pop-up’s incredible impact, while social media posts by families and NAPA’s 63K+ Instagram followers helped share stories of strength and resilience with the world.
This event was more than a therapy pop-up. It was a celebration of community, courage, and capability—a shining example of what’s possible when passionate organizations and generous hearts come together.
Thank you to everyone who made the NAPA SB Pop-Up a success. Your support is changing lives.
