Andres is an adorable 4-year-old boy who was diagnosed with HIE and neonatal seizures at birth. At 9 months old he was diagnosed with epilepsy and cerebral palsy. His mother, Nereida, reached out to MPFC to receive help with sending Andres to NAPA Center for intensive therapy.
His goals in intensive therapy are:
- – Endurance while using his walker
- – Bigger strides
- – Walking independently with close supervision
- – Better balance and core strength
- – Eat independently
- – Drink through a straw and sippy cup
- – Communication as he is nonverbal
MPFC awarded Andres a $3,000 grant to go to NAPA Center in Chicago. He will do physical therapy, occupational therapy, feeding therapy, and neurosuit therapy for 4 hours per day for three weeks. We are so excited to see the amazing progress Andres will make during his intensive therapy!
“This is amazing news for Andres and our family. We are ecstatic, we are very grateful for this grant, for Andres’s therapy. It truly means a lot to us, Andres’s parents, to know that he will have the opportunity to go to Napa Center”- Nereida, Andres’ Mother
